The Mariamman Foundation is a private, Low-profit Limited Liability Company. That means the foundation has a socially beneficial purpose instead of simply maximizing profit. We are a peer-led organization raising awareness about mental health diagnoses, treatment, and recovery.
The Mariamann Foundation was founded by a woman of color. One of the foundation’s primary missions is to provide education and resources about mental health conditions to the global BIPOC community.
We are mental wellnes experts.
Stamping out stigma is our passion and purpose!
The cornerstone of our work is dispelling myths about mental illness and stereotypes about people living with diagnoses. We do that through empowering peers to share their stories and work together on solutions.
Also, anxiety and depression are mental health diagnoses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, rates of both shot up six times higher than 2019. Those living with mental health conditions have a lot to offer on wellness journeys.
Mental health is health.
Mental health is important for all of us.
Each of us experiences negative feelings such as stress, anxiety, disappointment, and loss. Radical self-care is the antidote. It's at the heart of mental wellness with or without a diagnosis.
Authenticity is our core value. Researchers measured energy leaving the human body when someone is experiencing anger, passion or despair. The most powerful frequency: Authenticity.
Our first campaign is “There is no one like ME."

We believe in awareness, personal power, growth, rest, and service.
The foundation's logo is the Three Fold Flame. Pink symbolizes love. Blue symbolizes power. Yellow symbolizes wisdom. The trio is a call for self-awareness and balance.
Wellness begins with you and it’s contagious. Heal and help others in your corner of the world.
Mariamman is the Hindu goddess of weather. Our founder chose the name because of the Buddhist saying "I am the sky. Everything else is the weather."
We define the "weather" as life being in session with its pain and pleasure, joy and sadness, and wins and losses.
Science shows that emotions will come and go in 90 seconds if you FEEL them. It's just the weather and it's going to pass.
I am a grateful mental health advocate, mental wellness expert, and chronic illness recovery coach I am certified by NAMI as a Peer Support Specialist and a Presenter.
I have lived with bipolar disorder for more than 20 years AND I'm thriving. I want to show the world that there is no shame in living with a mental health diagnosis, in fact, it can be a gift if you stay healthy.
I am a survivor of two bipolar episodes. Over the years, I have come to see the blessings of living with it. I feel deeply, have a limitless imagination, and think out-of-the-box. Like me, many with diagnoses are creatives. I’ve lived all over the country, moving for work which included being a news anchor, actress, screenwriter, and business owner. I’ve now found my purpose in being of service by sharing my lived experience while also pursuing my passions.
I didn't know anything true about bipolar disorder when I diagnosed in my 20s it. As I sat there listening to the doctor, my mind replayed all of the horror stories in books, TV, and film. It took me years to accept the diagnosis. I felt broken and wondered what my life would look like with a mental illness. I had no idea that there were people who could recover - and not just once, but twice.
I had my first hospitalization in 2003. My recovery took two years. But after that, I was myself again: creating, growing, and finding a spiritual path. I was healthy for almost decades until summer of 2023. This time I recovered in a year. I know what went wrong and how I stayed in remission. It wasn't only medication and therapy. I made wellness the center of my life. I want to help others.
